Originally from the state of Maine, Miriam-Rose LeDuc began her training in classical violin and traditional Irish and Canadian fiddle music at a young age. Her interest in the Celtic sound ultimately lead her to the Jink and Diddle School of Scottish Fiddling in 2010, where she discovered her love for Scottish music. By 2013, she had graduated from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music with a degree in traditional Scottish fiddle music, ballet performance, and business. She has since performed and conducted workshops at various venues throughout the East Coast and the Midwest, including Georgetown Day School, The British International School of Chicago, the Scottish Society of Greater Bloomington, the Kelley School of Business, and the Columbus Scottish Festival. Additionally, she founded the Highland Lads and Lassies Fiddle Camp for aspiring young musicians, which most recently took place in Frankfort, IL. Miriam-Rose has received several awards for her music, including third place at the 2012 National Scottish Fiddle Championship, second place at the 2012 Ohio Scottish Games' open fiddle competition, and a Devesh Shah Learning Experience Grant. She now resides in Chicago and continues to share her love of traditional Scottish music through education and performance.
